Eye Infections.

This weeks blog comes directly from Dr Smith and is about gritty eye infection which is quite common.

A dry gritty eye is often a sign of a dry eye and much less common in men than in women. Often the eyes become infected and a good remedy to prevent infection is the use of a quality artificial eye drop used as often during the day as is needed. Good nutrition, which means a diet full of the correct amount of protein fat and carbohydrates is required but also especially over the age of 55 years of vitamin supplement is a really good idea. Consider asking a nutritionist about healthy meal ideas. Often this saves taking out the cookbook and keeps the required list of ingredients to the minimum necessary, thus avoiding waste or worse still, overeating.

More on eye infections at a later date.
